Infusion: drink 1-3 cups daily.
An excellent blend for a child with weak
respiratory constitution. This formula is not
necessarily for acute stage although it can be used
in conjunction with other remedies in acute stage.
Better used in between or after episodes to increase
strength of lungs.
Bedwetting

Child cough syrup

Teething
Catnip tea or tincture/Glycetracta
in small frequent doses
- Catnip
- Chamomile

- Lemon balm

Catnip is soothing to the nervous system and helps to relieve
acute
pain. It is also excellent for teething related fevers as well as
providing
a gentle relaxing effect saving many mothers from sleepless
nights.
Rose hip syrup - give 4 -6 drops of this syrup every hour for infants
For older children give vitamin c 100 mg along with frequent
teaspoon
doses of Rose hip syrup.
You can also freeze the catnip tea into Popsicle containers and
allow
your infant to suck on frozen pop which will numb the gums and
soothe
the nerves providing relief.
Fever reducing tea
- Catnip:
- Elder flores:
- Peppermint:
- Echinacea:
1 tsp/cup - steep for 60 minutes
give dose approp. q 30 minutes
use dosage chart
Diarrhea remedy tea
- Blackberry root:
- slippery elm bark:
- cinnamon bark:
Mixed herbs -> simmer 1 teasoon of the herb mix
in ¼ cup of water for 20 minutes.
Strain and cool. Give 2 -4 tablespoons every hour
or more often as needed.
Blackberry root tincture
Dose: 1 teaspoon of tincture in ½ cup of warm
water. Give ¼ tsp of this mix every hour.
Tea for cradle cap (internal)
For persistent cradle cap
- Red clover flores:
- Burdock root:
- Mullein leaf:
Dose: Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of
mixed herb, steep for 30 minutes, strain and give infant
1 teaspoons of the tea 3-4 times daily for several weeks.
Fommentation: Towel soaked in tea as follows
- Chamomile:
- Lavender:
Dose: Make tea 1 tablespoon/pint
steep for 20 minutes - strain, cool to
warm but not hot. Place towel over tummy until
it cools - reapply
nursing mothers: drink colic tea prior to nursing TID
along
with infant doses if colic becomes severe.
Utilize slippery elm gruel TID for both mom and babe.
Along with tea if colic persistent use dosage chart for babe.
May use slippery elm freely - it is a nutritive
Tea bath
- Lavender
- Chamomile
Make one tablespoon/1 quart of water as standard tea.
Strain, Cool. Add to bath water and soak baby for 10 minutes
then add 1 drop of lavender and chamomile essential oil
into
the bath water or on the fomentation towel which is also
greatly
beneficial.
1. Mother's milk as main mode of administering remedies and must drink at least 4-6 cups daily (do not give to babe unless directed to do so)
2. If not breastfeeding - tincture or tea can be added directly to baby bottle
Slippery elm gruel
- Slippery elm gruel:
- Marshmallow root:
- Cinnamon:
- Fennel seed:
Maple syrup to taste
Excellent soothing and healing (thick tea) gruel.
Healing for GI tract for any GI scalding, raw, upset state.
Severe vomiting/diarhea - the child/infant will hold
this
down when all else fails.
Directions: 1 tablespoon of herb mix - mix with 1 cup of
boiling
water and simmer in small pot over low heat for 10 minutes.
Sweeten with maple syrup
Store in fridge - warm before using
Add this tea mixed with juice or cereal (it is very
nourishing)
Dose: Infant may drink as much of this tea as need or wanted.
Lactating mother - drink 3-4 cups daily the baby will get
medicinal
effect via the breast milk.
Child nervine - for restlessness during illness or agitated states
